The Thai Royal Family welcomed the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh on their State Visit to Thailand on this day in 1996.  The Queen had hosted King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Queen Sirikit of Thailand on their State Visit to Britain in 1960, and had been joined by Princess Anne on a previous State Visit to Thailand in 1972.
